9 month old is tired but wont sleep?

My daughter had a tummy bug yesterday and although she was better today she still wasn't 100% anyway she's very tired right now, its obvious but we've tried everything to settle her - more bottle, juice, cradling and rocking, gave her some calpol incase she had a tummy ache, even went for a drive to try and get her to sleep but she didn't even drift off and cries everytime my husband puts her down, so i was wondering is there something we haven't tried that might work? dont want to leave her to cry it out as she has been poorly and i just dont feel right doing that while she's a bit fragile.
